Terraform

So, I try something different this
time which usually I will write about some sad-poetic yet trying to be
aesthetic poetry or short story, in this thight toy night I will write something
different, a story about one of those song which contain valuable stories
behind them. It’s the song by Novo Amor and Ed Tullet called Terraform, it tells us about the story of Kawah Ijen in Indonesia which has an untold story beneath
it, this song is about bravery, slavery, eternity and the most important thing,
sacrifice. Terraform seems like one of very rare song which talks about SDGs
and support it, terraform means is to alter the environtment in order to
support life and I take it as the way to maintain and keep our earth from
disaster but I won’t talk about the nature this time and focus on the people,
in Kawah Ijen there is bravery and why do I say so? It’s because there are hundreds
of miners in Kawah Ijen who mine the sulphure on the bottom of the volcano with
hot toxic smoken air without no protection tools to protect their health and
they trace all along the edge of volcano twice a day with baskets of sulphure
on their bruised shoulders which symbolizes the pain they have to take for
making sure their family have something to eat on the next day, to make sure
that slight smile on their children faces still drawn and it takes bravery. Slavery
that I’m talking about is not like what happened in the human race history or
what Daenerys Targaryen tries to tackle in Game of Thrones, but this is the
slavery of apathetic circumstances toward the proletariats, that has to suffer
themselves to please their own, this is the real slavery when the miners have
to keep stabbing the sulphure mine surrounding by yellow toxic gas and the
worst thing is, not like the common slavery that the slaves know who to obey,
the slavery among these miners don’t have any particular existed particle to
obey and give them orders and that’s the worst slavery when you don’t know who controls
your life yet you may be able to take other choices but somehow you just can’t
cause in a confusing way the circumstances and connection between people remain
apathetic. And talking about apathetic most of people misunderstand it
unfortunately, most of them believe that getting together, laughing, fooling
around, and joking in a group or toward the people on the same perspective and
same level as they are is caring, is uniting, is right and consider the people
who are not in the same boat with them are retarded or frigid, unapproachable,
meanwhile they don’t even try to get in touch with them. This is what happens
to the miners, but Novo Amor and Ed Tullet show that there is still a balance
among human beings, the first time I saw the official video I was so excited
cause the location was in Indonesia, the overwhelming land and place in Kawah
Ijen with local villagers on the video and somehow it’s like they live in eternity
near the heartwhelming volcano view as their TV, the sounds of the wind as their
music, and the language of nature as their best advice. It’s so perplexing how
people live in hell and heaven in the same time but you can see it in Kawah
Ijen of East Java, Indonesia. The bravery, slavery, and eternity they have
faced along side them for lifetime somehow it doesn’t get them to the ease for
getting through all of them, there is honesty in bravery, there is unity in
slavery, there is complexity in eternity, and there is sacrifice fueling all of
them. Bravery to break the walls of poverty, slavery from the apathetic behavior
to slap people on their faces, eternity that is eager to please the sufferers,
those blacked-scar-marked shoulders are the real matadors, fooling around with tighty
death. Help them, help the matador please check www.ijenassistance.com.
